Calumet City Historical Society was chartered in 1974. It is housed in the old Calumet City Public Library, a WPA-era building, and later the Calumet City Cultural Center from 1986 till the 2000s.

Homewood Historical Society
Founded in 1980 and located in the 1891 Christian Dorband-Charles Albee Howe House, now a museum. Offers tours throughout the summer, including historic landmarks and Richard Haas Murals.

Palos Historical Society
Formed in 1957 and located behind the Administration Center. Founded to encourage historical inquiry, to collect and preserve materials of history and spread historical information. Activities include meetings, lectures, social events, field trips, Memorial Day services as well as research and preservation of historical facts.
